Gold Hydraulic Oil has an extremely high initial boiling point of 360 °C/680 °F.
Preventing your brake oil from boiling means keeping your bite point and power consistent.
Gold Hydraulic Oil has a very high viscosity index of 200.
This means it will not resist flow even through extreme temperature changes.
In combination with an extremely high boiling point, the high viscosity index provides the most precise and consistent braking performance. This includes eliminating the issue of migrating bite point.
Gold Hydraulic Oil is very durable as it does not degrade much due to time or heat and has a very small evaporation loss. This ensures extended service intervals.
Evaporation characteristics of Gold Hydraulic Oil have been compared with Shimano hydraulic mineral oil in a Noack volatility test. This is a standard test for evaporation loss of lubricants in which a sample is heated to 250 °C for 60 minutes. The lost weight fraction is the result of the Noack volatility test.
Gold Hydraulic Oil is environmentally friendly, made from renewable resources and fully biodegradable in accordance with the OECD 301B test*.
The oil is classified as a non-hazardous substance according to transport regulations.
*OECD 301B is a closed environment test that measures biodegradation of materials based on CO2 evolution from microorganisms.
This brake oil is suitable for all brakes designed for use with mineral oil: Shimano, Magura, TRP, Tektro, Formula Cura.
It is not compatible with DOT brakes (SRAM, Avid, Hayes, Hope, older type Formula…).
